Our Pura Vida Taco Seasoning came to life during Chef Mike’s travels in Costa Rica and Mexico, where he gathered inspiration from the complex flavours of Mexican food and the “simple life” culture of Costa Rica,

This is not your Momma’s Taco Tuesday seasoning, unless she has a legit food stand in Guadalajara. It is smoky, earthy, and ends with a kick. Don’t stop at tacos, we love it on breakfast frittatas, grilled fish, cauliflower wings and much more!

Caribbean Jerk

Spice Blend + Marinade

Caribbean Jerk came to life in the Bahamas last year as Chef Mike toured the entire coastline on a Catamaran with other ocean life lovers. As they spearfished and line-caught most of their meals along the way, Mike coated his spice blend on the daily catch making life quick & easy and adding an impressive flavour profile with very little work.

This was designed as a seasoning geared towards fish tacos and is finding its way into so many new creations, such as jerk chicken, marinated & grilled prawns, grilled pineapple, roasted potatoes, and so many that you will see pop up on our recipe page.

Maple Espresso

Dry Rub + Marinade

Maple Espresso came to life in The Rocky Mountains while Chef Mike created dishes for his restaurant, braising and grilling wild game and local meats. This is a coffee lover's blend with deliciously sweet notes from maple sugar, balanced with a slightly spicy kick from the guajillo pepper. Our coffee comes directly from a small sustainable organic coffee plantation in Costa Rica, and the maple sugar comes from an organic sugar shack in New Brunswick.

This blend works well with red meats, wild game, chicken, steak and salmon. Use this blend for a dry rub, or quickly create a marinade by adding oil.

Backcountry BBQ

This Barbecue blend tracks back to Chef Mike's early years in the kitchen. One of his favourite stations in the kitchen was working the grill; this barbecue blend was inspired along that journey and showcases some bold flavours that hold up to any protein for the BBQ.

This blend can act as a marinade when incorporating some oil, add in flour for a chicken batter, pork tenderloin, salmon, prawns, grilled vegetables, and find its way into new creations daily.

Seven Seas Togarashi

Seasoning + Finishing Spice

Togarashi was created to showcase the beautiful wild sea vegetables on the West Coast and East Coast of Canada. Our togarashi has seven sea vegetables, including dulse, nori, sea lettuce, kombu, wakame, laminaria longicruris, and knotted wrack. It heightens dishes with bright citrus notes from dehydrated orange peel, rich, robust umami flavours, and a slight kick from crushed red peppers. 

It goes well on tuna, ramen, noodles, rice, and avocado toast and adds a perfect kick to any dish with a little sprinkle.

Canadian Seas

Seasoning

Canadian Seas is the perfect representation of Canada’s coastlines. Chef Mike spent many years working in kitchens on the East Coast of Canada, preparing many seafood and fish dishes. Chef added fresh herbs to many recipes, such as cilantro and dill, lemon for acidity, and balancing sweetness with maple syrup, caramelized garlic, and onion.

This quickly became our most popular blend for its versatility as it goes well in salmon, lobster rolls, white fish, aiolis, chowder, seafood pasta and much more. Chef’s favourite is in scrambled eggs!
